Sedation Dentistry for Children

Crossroads DentalUncategorized

Have you been dreading dental treatment for your child because they have a tendency towards dental anxiety? Is their smile paying the price? If so, our team at Crossroads Dental is here to help. Our skilled dentist, Dr. Christine Hervas, is happy to offer nitrous oxide for our patients in Luling, Texas, and the surrounding areas who struggle with anxiety during dental procedures.

Dentists began using nitrous oxide (or laughing gas), since the 1860’s to relax their patients. Nitrous oxide helps patients relax and feel calm while staying fully awake during a procedure. This colorless gas is mixed with oxygen and inhaled through the nose by breathing normally while our team is taking care of your child’s smile.

After Dr. Hervas  and our team administer the sedation, your child will be able to hear and respond to questions and instructions during their procedure. While they sit back, relax, and breathe comfortably via their nose, they will feel peaceful and calm during the treatment. They may also feel a little light-headed, along with some tingling in the arms and legs, warmth, euphoria, and a little sleepy. All of these effects wear off moments after the mask is removed.

So whether your child is having their teeth cleaned, or having a pulotomy, please know that Dr. Christine Hervas and our team are committed to your child’s well-being during their time with us. Our sedation dentistry options will help them get the treatment they need in the comfort they deserve.
